Welcome to Morning Star Charters, we are docked out of beautiful North Point Marina in Winthrop Harbor IL. The Morning Star is a 35 foot Viking fly bridge, Viking yachts are regarded as one of the finest fishing vessels in the world, their heavy fiberglass construction accompanied with a large wide beam help make them one of the most stable and comfortable fishing vessels regardless of the weather conditions. The Morning Star is fully insured and U.S Coast Guard inspected, she is equipped with state of the art electronics and navigation, all fishing equipment is furnished and of the highest quality. All required safety equipment is available to ensure your safety and comfort.
Captains Larry Griffith (owner) and Jeff Sobotka are both U.S.C.G Master Licensed Captains, with over 40 years of combined experience fishing the waters of Lake Michigan. First Mate Ken Sthrathmann has been with the Morning Star for over 25 years, his knowledge and professionalism on the lake are unmatched. We are full time captains which ensures you the very best and up to date fishing information. We strive to make every trip memorable and safe, we are very proud of our profession, boat, and crew. Our season runs from April through October, so no matter your choice of season we will try and provide you with a once in a lifetime experience. Whether your booking a day with friends, spending quality time with family, or entertaining clients Morning Star Charters will fill your needs. We can also accommodate multiple boat outings for larger groups.
Our rates are based on 1-6 passengers, (6) max. A $100.00 deposit is due within 10 days of booking, refunds are available with at least 14 day notice or you may reschedule your trip within the same season.
5 hour trip $500.00
6 hour trip $550.00 (most common)
8 hour trip $750.00
